Hi, I’m Richard Munden—founder of Learn to Line Dance with Richard—and I’m so glad you’re here. My own line dance journey started as a complete beginner in 1996 who just wanted to try something

fun. I quickly discovered that line dancing was more than just steps and music—it was confidence, connection, and joy in motion. I fell in love with the feeling of learning something new, moving to music I loved, and sharing that energy with others.

Over the years, what started as a hobby became a huge part of my life. I began attending classes regularly, learning from a variety of instructors, and developing my own style. Eventually, I stepped into teaching in 2004, and that’s where everything changed. I realised that helping people feel good about dancing—no matter their experience level—was something I was truly passionate about.

​

Since starting The Super Troupers Line Dance Club I have run beginner and improver classes in Kent, Hampshire and Essex.  At one stage, I had 10 weekly classes, a monthly disco and a monthly Country Music Club as well as an annual club holiday. To say Line Dancing is part of who I am is an understatement.

​

The Learn to Line Dance with Richard YouTube channel was almost born by accident. It started off life to give a little extra practice to a small group of dancers who only had a weekly 45 minute lesson in their lunch break. During Covid, the channel went mad and with my classes closed down, as soon as I was able to get back into a hall, my tutorial creation schedule went mad.

 

The YouTube channel now has over 12,300 subscribers and 1,100 videos giving people access to high-quality, step-by-step line dance tutorials no matter where they live or how busy life gets.

 

This membership was the logical next step although when I opened the doors for the first time in November 2023, other than a weekly Live Teach session, I didn’t know what I was going to offer. I was blown away when 36 Founding Members joined me and between us we evolved the membership to what it is today. The membership offers up to date teaches with direct access to me as well as all the bonuses. No adverts and most importantly, the Live Teach videos are all in one (not chopped up like they are on YouTube). 

These days, I teach live classes both online and in person, and I’ve built an amazing members only library of over 200 tutorials. But no matter how much it grows, my mission stays the same: to make line dancing more accessible, more joyful, and more welcoming for everyone.
